Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth. Serve the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing.
Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him; bless his name.
For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever and his faithfulness to all generations. ~ Psalm 100
I'm going to cheat a little today since the words to this Psalm really speak for themselves. Instead, I invite you to think of the ways in which you make a joyful noise to God. Is it through singing or playing an instrument? It is through spoken word?
As a bonus video this week, here is Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Make a Joyful Noise," which is was the coronation anthem of King Charles and Queen Camilla. It is based not on this Psalm, but on Psalm 98. Still, I think it speaks to the joy of all of the Psalms of praise and thanksgiving.
